There are two central principles we examine in this edited and enhanced republishing of a devotional on thanksgiving:
First, no matter where we are in our earthly pilgrimage, joy in victory or sorrow in our trials, our gratitude rests in…
you. “Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven.”
Secondly, God graciously grants us moments in time, which bring us profound affections of love, joy, contentment, and peace. These anchors of our soul we store up to bring us strength in the low ebbs of our lives.
But Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart.
And He went down with them, and came to Nazareth; and He continued in subjection to them; and His mother treasured all these things in her heart.
52 And Jesus kept increasing in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.

"The consideration of these things has long engaged me to attend to this matter, with the utmost diligence and care, and exactness of search and inquiry, that I have been capable of. It is a subject on which my mind has been peculiarly intent, ever since I first entered on the study of divinity. But as to the success of my inquiries it must be left to the judgment of the reader of the following treatise." - Jonathan Edwards.
